A lean-to building is, for the most part, just a shedrow barn with a peaked roof and at least an 8-foot lean-to roof on one or both sides. The buildings may seem very similar, and they are, except for one huge zoning difference. A shedrow barn is still considered a “portable building” even once completely set on the owner's property. However, a lean-to building is a 100% permanent structure, and once setup is complete, it cannot be moved around the property.
